First SNOW fall!!

Last night it started snowing and this is what we woke up to, a couple of inches of snow and is still snowing!! Time to get out the four wheeler and the sled and go for a ride in the snow! Although it has snowed once or twice this year this is the first that it has stuck. If only the snow could hold off until Christmas Day so we can have a white Christmas but highly doubtful. I don't remember the last white Christmas we had.

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree...

Over the weekend we were able to put up our 12 foot artificial pre-lit Christmas Tree. Yes that's right 12 feet. It is a monster!! My mom was so kind to think of us when she heard that Marley (a Nurse from my mom's office) was wanting to give her tree away to a good home. Well it just so happens that we were needing a tree and we have just the ceiling for a 12 foot tree as you would have to have a tall ceiling to fit such a tree. We were thrilled when my mom was able to bring it by and to get it put up. With the help of Tom and Deidra (one of Tom's friends) we were able to get the huge thing up plugged in and decorated. It looks stunning!!

Poinsettia Bowl Bound

YEAH!! BSU gets to play in the Poinsettia Bowl. To bad its not a BCS bowl but it is still a bowl game other than the H bowl. Before it was decided that BSU was going to play TCU in sunny California, Ben and I decided that we would go ahead and book tickets to fly down to California to be there on the 23 of December just in case BSU was to play in the Poinsettia Bowl. We were not to worried about the whole thing because if they would not play in the Poinsettia Bowl, we would have still gone to California to visit Ben's parents for Christmas. It all worked out thought we get to see Ben's parents for Christmas and watch BSU play TCU in San Diego. We leave on the 20th of December and will fly back on Christmas day. We were so excited that everything worked out and we GET to watch BSU play.

NEW project

A few weeks ago we purchased some really big cinder blocks for landscaping. Not to mention we got them for a steal of a deal just a dollar a each, normally these big cinders would cost almost five bucks each so we made out like bandits. In our very small back yard we are re-building our retaining wall. It wasn't to bad before but we decided it needed a make over. In the near future we will be adding some kind of water feature. We are not done with the project just yet, we only have 1/2 of the wall built, but I really can't even say 1/2 because we still need to put the top cinders on to top it off so here we are right in the middle of the project but it will be done soon. Ben is such a hard worker at making our house look better and nicer. Ever since we have moved in here there have been lots of projects to work on, I wonder what will be next?? I guess we will have to see!! Have a nice day folks.

Lazy Dayz

When there is nothing much going on and you know it is just going to be a lazy day, this is where you will find me, hanging out on the bean bag with my buddy Legadu. He loves to cuddle with you. When Legadu was a puppy we could never really get him to cuddle with you, until Ben took him backpacking one year and it was supper cold Legadu cuddled up real close to Ben so he would stay warm and ever since that trip he loves to cuddle as much as he can. Were okay with that I guess.

Work, Work, Work

Buying a new home means that there is always something to be worked on. Wither it be demolition, painting or installing something new. Well this weeks project or should I say maybe a couple of weeks, we have been working on installing new tile for our front entry way. Before it was this crappy old worn out wood floor and it just had to go. So one day Ben decided to rip it all out and that is how the project began. We had a few set backs like BSU games or Ben accidentally cut his finger with the razor blade so that put us back a while but the good news is he still has is finger and it is healing nicely and that we finished it YEAH!! Now we have started on getting Tom's bathroom tiled we are just about done, the only thing left to do is to seal the tile and grout lines and put the toilet back in and than we are DONE!! After doing a project like this the end results are always rewarding.

Puking Pumpkins

So I wanted to carve pumpkins this year and of course I can never talk Ben into carving pumpkins with me so I carved his pumpkin and I carved my own. I really didn't mean to copy you Jenny and Chris, but I had that in mind as well to have my pumpkin puking!! It really is rather funny when you look at it. But I had a great time carving up my pumpkins this year and hope I can get someone else to help me carve them next year! I hope everyone has a really great Halloween, and have a SPOOKTAKULAR NIGHT!!

Me and Mrs. Cheese Head

Jamie is one of my good friends at work she dressed up as a Greenbay Packer Fan, she had made some really cool signs for the team and hung them around her desk. And then there is me so you could get a better look at my construction out fit! The picture's didn't turn out so good that is because I have to use my camera phone, and my real camera is still broken. I think it has been broken for over a year now. Maybe I just need to get a new one.

The Village People

Being that it is Halloween and that time of year a group of us girls from work decided that it would be fun to all dress up as the Village People Deidra was the Indian, Megan was the Sheriff, Vy as the biker chick, Deanna as the first Sargent, Susan was the Cowgirl, and there there is me as the hard working construction man or bob the builder. We all had a lot of fun dressing up at work as funny people.

Fall is in the Air

Fall is my favorite time of year! The leaves are all changing colors, the weather is getting colder. The grass has stopped growing (no more mowing!) BSU Football has started. Racking leaves and jumping around in them. Halloween is just around the corner. What will you be for Halloween? What are your kids going to be? Kids running around in the streets at night in funny outfits. Pumpkin carving, pumpkin pie. Scary decorations. What more can you say about Fall. I think it is just a wonderful time of the year there are so many different colors around.

My Doggy Legadu

Legadu and I were out playing ball and I figured out how to make him pose really cute for the camera!! Its really easy I just have to hold his ball right next to the camera because that is all he ever thinks about is his tennis ball. He is a great dog and I am glad he is part of our family.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

Okay so this past weekend my husband and I spent a good majority of our time on our house. We wanted to paint the outside or our house because it needed it really really badly! So we saved some money for the big project. If you ever watch TLC there is a show called flip this house. In True flipper style, our budget was
500.00
Paint and Supplies 356.40
Lighting and Accessories 56.80
Extra Cash 86.80
Total Profit Priceless.

It was a ton of work being the fact it was only Ben and I for most of the main painting of the house. However my brother in law Tom came just in time when both Ben and I were about to break down. He pitched in with most of the trim work and other minor details. Hopefully you can see our house used to be a light cream color with a dark green trim, it is now light brown with a dark brown trim. I am glad that we had to opportunity to paint the out side of our house it feels like a completely different home!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to my WONDERFUL husband and lover!! I am so grateful that such a wonderful man came into my life and chose me!! I hope he has the BEST birthday ever!! I don't think we have much plans for his big birthday today. However I did make him a birthday cake which he wanted a Yellow MOIST cake with chocolate frosting and I added some peanut butter M&M's to top it off. He loves anything with chocolate and peanut butter in it :). We will probably order in food from Texas Road House as it is one of our favorite places to eat, we just don't like going and waiting for ever to get a table, when we can just eat some great food in the comfort of our own home. Other than that he might get a few birthday gifts :)!! He is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me!! This picture makes him look crossed eyed, well that's because Ben hates taking pictures so this was the best one that he would give me, he really is cross eyed in the picture. He is so goofy sometimes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE!!

A Night out with Dierks

A few weeks ago me and a friend had the opportunity to go to a Dirks Bently concert here in town. She was the one that had found out about this last second concert with Dirks Bently and could not pass it up. So her and I headed downtown Boise to the new Knitting Factory Concert house a.k.a the Big Easy for those of you who have been there. But anyways there was a ton of people all crammed in that little space like sardines. We still managed to get a great spot on the floor only two rows from the front so we were up close and personal, it was like we could feel the sweat dripping off of him. Just kidding we really didn't but it was supper hot in there with all those people around. All in all it was awesome to see a great country music singer in concert. We had a great time with Dirks!!!

Mystery Flower

When we first moved into our new home we had all sorts of plants in the front of our house. Well just recently we wanted to redo that area of our front yard because it looked like a jungle with no rhyme or reason. We had these grass looking plants that were really long, we had some baby pine trees growing with other little baby trees, but then there was this other green cool looking plant that I did not want to get rid of because I was curious to know what kind of plant it was. I had no idea that it was going to be so gorgeous. It has at least five bloomed flowers and more to come. This type of Lily is bright pink and just looks absolutely stunning in our new arrangement of things in our front yard.

My Dads NEW Toy!!

For quite some time now my Dad has always wanted to get him self a SWEET motorcycle!! Well this past weekend he did just that what he has always wanted. He got him self a beutiful Harley Davidson Motorcycle, it is white and black and shines in the sun with a tint of blue. It's a SWEET bike!!

My Weekend

Well, this past weekend my husband and I were going to go backpacking in McCall to get away for a little while, and have some fun just the two of us and our dog of course. We were to take off on Thursday and make it a 3 night event. We were headed to the gas station to fill up the car to have enough gas to make it up the hill, and then the car started acting funny, and a warning light came on, on the front dash. It was having troubles in the first gear once we got past 30 mph it seemed okay. So we thought that it would be a good idea to call up my dad to ask him what we should do. With the good advice from my dad we thought that it better be a good thing to postpone our trip and get our truck checked out before we got to far, and were stranded somewhere on the side of the road. The next day we got our truck looked at and ended up being that we had to replace two parts which was a hefty penny, not to mention the labor cost on top of that.

All is well and we got our truck back and decided that it would still be fun to go up to McCall. But the plans changed just a little instead of backpacking we went car camping up by Gold Fork Hot Springs. Much less work involved when we go car camping, and we got to bring a lot more stuff!! We even packed up are barbecue and grilled up some steaks the first night along with mashed potatoes it was delicious. Legadu loved every minute of the outdoors and swimming in the stream where we had camped next to. It was a fun filled weekend!!

A New School Year!!

So I thought I would take a minute to talk about my plans for the up coming school year. I had originally planned on just taking one class this fall, so I can focus all of my attention to just one class so that I can get a good grade. That one class is the second semester of Anatomy and Physiology. Last semester was great I really enjoyed learning all sorts of stuff about the human body and how and why it works. I am looking forward to that again. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury just to take one class this semester. You see I need to have a really good GPA to be able to apply in the the Radiology program at Boise State. So I have to re-take Psychology, one of the classes that I had taken up at Walla Walla, so I can get a better grade in that class and therefore have a higher GPA. I hope and pray for all the best grades that I can possibly get because I really can not spare to get anything lower than an A in my two classes this semester. Then if all goes as planned the fallowing semester I will be taking Chemistry which should be an interesting class. Then also this spring I plan on applying into the program and hopefully getting in so that I can start my life, actually doing something!! If I get into the program which I am planning on doing I will start the program next fall in 2009. It kinda seems like a long ways a way but it is what it is. The sooner I start the program the faster I will get a better paying job and the sooner we will be able to start a family :)!! Well those are my education endeavors and hope they all go as planned. Not to mention this semester trying to go to the BSU football games!! GO BRONCOS!!! You all have a great day now ya hear!!

Our NEW Home!!!

I am so terrible about keeping this thing updated. My camera is still broken and still have not found the time to get it fixed. Today I found my self really really board at work so thought that I would utilize my down time and work on my blog since it needs it very very badly!! So since the last snow day in April it has been a three whole months since I was last here. Alright so since April we finally were able to move into our new house that was a big ordeal, it took forever for all the paper work to come through on the house and it all came in just on time before our loan lock expired. We are very thankful that all is good and everything went through just in time for everything to work out. We are now enjoying our new home it is almost 1800 square feet it has 3 bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 bathrooms all of the bedrooms are upstairs, we have a great living room and family room. All though there was a ton of work to do before we could really move in. The sellers were kind enough to let us work on the house before it closed and was officially ours. We had set a date to close on our home and never did and then we had set another date and it still did not happen. So the sellers let us get started on all the dirty work. Some of the things we did just on a weekend while Ben's parents were in town to help us get started on the big project is we were able to paint every single wall in the house with at least two coats if not more if it needed it. Not to mention before we could paint the walls we had to scrub the walls because the previous renters that lived in the home had spilled things all over the walls, there dogs had made messes all over the carpets which made the whole house smell of animal urine. The people that lived in the home were also smokers so you can only imagine these two smells mixed together how bad it must have smelled. We were fortunate enough that the sellers gave us a 1200.00 dollar allowance for brand new carpet and pad. So we picked out the best that we could for the amount that was available to us. We did end up spending just a little bit of our own money which basically covered the cost for the installer to rip out all of the yucky carpet and pad and to put in the new stuff!! What a difference the new pad and carpet makes to the look of the house and to the smell. Unfortunately we weren't able to replace all the carpet in the home as it would cost us way to much money, then we would not be able to afford our mortgage! However we were also able to replace the carpet in our master bedroom and closet with the help of Ben's parents. Thank you so much for helping us out!! Other things that we were able to accomplish after my in laws were gone, is that we cleaned all the base boards and trimming around all the doors and got all of those painted along with the doors. We had to buy a new fan for the master bedroom as we could not figure out what was wrong with the one that was already there, I am glad we bought a new fan it makes all the difference when it is super hot outside and since our bedroom is upstairs it is nice to feel the breeze when we sleep. We also laid down tile in are spare 1/2 bathroom downstairs and in the hallway from the garage to the kitchen. We also were able to get tile down in our master bathroom. Its to bad that I did not have before and after pictures of our house and I am really bummed about it because then no one can see all the hard work that we had to put into this house. But I can happily say that most of it is all done and we were able to move in and have now lived there for about one and half months it is awesome to be a home owner. All though our house seems to be somewhat done there is always some little project that needs to be worked on.

Snow in April?

Well this morning I woke up to get ready for work and noticed the white glistening slow that was falling from the sky. Just when I thought that the winter was over and the weather would be getting nicer I was wrong. They say the weather is supposed to be super nice this weekend almost up to 70 degrees. Well you wouldn't believe it by the sight that I saw this morning when I looked out my window. To see my car covered in snow. I feel sorry for my husband when it snows outside, because he is pretty much stuck out there or with nothing to do at work. Well our house news seems to be good!!we put an offer on a house a few weeks ago, and the sellers are all for us getting the house. We are super excited and hope everything goes through. Because it was a pre-foreclosed home the process sometimes takes a little longer than normal. But we should be closing by the end of this month if everything goes well. I will keep everyone updated. Nothing New

Sorry it has been so long since I have done anything to my blog. It is just nothing new has really happened. Also my camera is broken and I am unable to take any new pictures. I would say the only new news is that Ben and I have started the home buying process, to try and find a new home. Let me tell ya we have already learned some valuable lessons when it comes to who you choose for help like a realtor and a lender. Thank you friends and family for your great referrals and leading us in the right direction of home ownership. Other then that there isn't any thing new in the Doherty family. Oh I guess there is one more thing our dog Legadu got a pretty nasty cut on is paw today March 6th, while he was at work helping Ben out. We called the vet and told us that we should probably take him in to get is checked out. I was worried about infection because it was a pretty deep cut and he is always in contact with the floor. He had to stay at the vet's for about an hour while the gave him a really heavy sedation so they could put four stitches to sew him all up. We then when to go pick him up and he was still very out of it, but was back to his normal self with in a few hours. We love haveing Legadu around and a part of our family even when he does cost us a bunch of money at the vet. Until then HAPPY DAYS!!

About US

Ben and I have been married for a little over two years now. Wow how the time has past. We currently are living in a rental house in Meridian Idaho. Although we love our rental house and love the location, we would love to be able to own a home some day soon. I am currently working full time at Intermountain Medical Imaging where we do all sorts of radiology scans (MRI, CT, US, XR, and even PET scans), I have worked here for a little over a year now and love my job. I am also going to school full time and working towards getting excepted into the radiology program at Boise State and then eventually work toward being an ultrasound tech. Ben is also working hard at Plantation Country Club, which happens to be the oldest golf course in Boise Idaho. Ben has been recently promoted to an upper management position and was very excited about this new opportunity. Ben is working towards his Turf Management Degree and hopes to be a Superintendent of a golf course one day. We have a cute little doggie who's name is Legadu, we named him after the BSU football player Legadu Nanee. Although he is not so little any more I tend to think he is, he is about 10 Months old now and loving every bit of having him a part of our family.
This summer the dogs had a little bit too
much fun playing in the back yard with
each other. The black dog is Legadu's
friend Madison they play together everyday.
As you can see they dug this massive hole in
our back yard all the way to the sprinkler
pipes, we still have not fixed the hole just yet,
maybe when the weather gets a little nicer and the ground
is not fozen any more
Legadu jumped up into our bed one mornng
to greet us and to get us up for the day. As you can
tell I look beautiful in the mornings. :)
This is my handsome little guy all grown up!!

Legadu camping in Mcall

This is where Ben and I went backpacking this summer.
In the beautiful mountians of Mcall Idaho.
Legadu loves playing with his
Dad in the warm sun.

Back packing in Mcall with our little doggy Ledadu.
He kept me warm most of the time even thought he was not very
big yet. Legadu loves to go backpacking with us and loves to
chew on everything, including all the sticks!!

PUPPY LOVE

The Joys of having a puppy in the house!!

Napping Legadu

Legadu loves to sleep on his back with his legs straight up in the air. He has always slept this way since he was very little. This is when we very first got Legadu he is only about 9 weeks old here very cute!!
