2010 Fit for Life

This past weekend my friend from work Amanda and I ran together in the 5k race Fit for Life. Granted it was only a 3.1 mile race, but it was Amanda's first race and we wanted to run it, she ran a little harder and faster than I, and I could have probably pushed my self harder than I did, o well there is always next time I did finish at about 33 min and 20 sec.
I was not gutsy enough to run the 1/2 marathon like you Teri!! Congratulations by the way for running that hard and finishing, that is amazing. One of these days I will get to that 1/2 marathon just not quite yet! I will be running in my first 10k in October with my husband, he is a great person to run with because he pushes me to my limits which is a good thing. This will be the next step towards that 1/2 marathon. I also wanted to congratulate Jenny for the hard work that you did in your triathlon, that is also amazing. I haven't even had kids yet and I can barley do a 3.1 mile race. Good job to the both of you!!

4th of July scare!!

4th of July weekend this year was spent in McCall enjoying some time with my husbands family. We all had a blast and a real nice sunburn to go along with it. Ben had to work early Monday morning so we had decided that we were not going to stay for the fireworks over McCall lake. So we headed back down the mountain probably just before 6:oo p.m. For the 2 days that we were gone one of Tom's friends had agreed to to watch over our dog and our house.

As we were coming up Horseshoe bend hill, we get a text message from Tom saying that when Ryan (his friend) came over to feed the dog, he was missing and not at the house. Right after Tom's text, Ryan had called to tell us the news that our dog was missing, and that he had called our aunt Angel, and our neighbors that know our dog pretty well to see if the would help find our little escape artist. We were so grateful for all of those who came out to help found our little doggie. After 2 and half hours of driving around and asking everyone and anyone in the neighborhood if they had seen him?, where did he go?, when did you last see him? Angel finally spotted our dog in someones back yard hanging out with two other doggies. Boy were we happy to have finally found him. If we had not found him the night of the 4th we probably never would have found him. When we did finally find him he was really tired and soaking wet, he being a lab he can not get enough of the water, somewhere on his little journey he found the water and jumped right in.

Thanks again for all those who took time out of there 4th of July activities to help find our furry little friend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Well I guess I should have posted that it was my birthday a few days ago!! On the 10th of June I turned one year older and I am now an old lady as some people told me. Well I don't feel old!! I am 25 this year and I had an AWESOME birthday, I took the day off from work as did Ben so that we could see each other's faces!! We went on a drive out to Montuer (I am not sure how you spell it) but it is between Horshoebend and Emmett. It is our new favorite place!! We have been looking at a piece of property right off the Payette river that we would like to buy but unfortunately we already have a house and mortgage. Oh well we can dream right!! Any way after are our little drive, Ben took me out to Tucano's the Brazilian restaurant for lunch. Then we came home and let our bellies digest before we went bowling, and then we grabbed some Ice cream on the way home and enjoyed the evening!!

I wanted to THANK all of those who wished me a Happy Birthday on my very special day!!

Toughest Half Marathon in the West
Robbie Creek

About a month ago my husband finished one of the toughest half marathons in the west!! This was his first half marathon but wont be his last. This year the Robbie Creek registration sold out in just about 16 min. Registration opened online at about 12:oo noon. Just before this time I had the computer out with the web page up and ready to go because other people had told us that it sells out quick so you have to be ready if you want a spot in the race. The registration link finally appeared so I clicked on it as soon as it was available and the page kept giving me an error message, so at this point both me and my husband were panicking thinking that we would not get it. Luckily Ben's boss Ryan, who ran the race with Ben was able to get him self registered right away and he called Ben to ask if we had gotten in and we said NO. Ryan was able to get back in right away and register Ben for the race.

When Ben had decided that he wanted to run Robbie, both Ben and Ryan trained hard for about 4 months prior to the race. They ran long distances for a while, then when it came closer to the race they started running in the foot hills where the race would start.

When race day was finally here on April 17th they were ready, well so they thought!! Both Ben and Ryan finished the race but they said that it was nothing like they had trained for. It was much much harder than what they thought. Ben ran pretty good up hill but when the course started down hill this was when the race started giving him problems. He ran all five miles down hill with a cramp in his left calf. At this point he did not want to stop to rub it out he just wanted to keep going to finish. As the race is a total of 13.1 miles, uphill and down hill. Anyway they finished at about 2 hours and 29 min.

Right after the race Ben felt pretty good, he jumped in the creek at the end of the race to cool off while Ryan and his wife went off to go find some food and drinks. Once Ben had cooled off this is when things turned a little ugly!

Ben was suffering from heat exhaustion, he was puking all the water and Gatorade he had drank during the race. This was NOT fun for Ben. He was all ready really tired from the race and then puking on top of that wore him out really fast. He had absolutely NO energy for anything. After about four hours of puking every half hour, we decided that it was probably time to take him to the ER and get him some fluids and medication. Once we were able to get him to stop puking and fluids back in him he was good to go.

After all of that Ben says he is going to run Robbie again next year and he will be better prepared, he will train harder and hydrate himself weeks before the race!!

CRAZY SUMMER SCHEDULE!!

Well my first year in the Radiology program is OVER!! They have not kicked me out yet so I guess that is a good thing!! One would think that because it is summer time that I would have all the time in the world to relax and have a fun summer!! Well that's not true at all, in fact I will only see my husband on the weekends and I will only get to see him for about 20 hours a week. WOW that really sucks. Yeah I will basically be coming home to sleep and then start all over again in the morning. You see my schedule goes a little something like this... Wake up at about 6:30 a.m, shower, get ready for clinic than I am out the door by 7:15 a.m., clinic for 8 hours off by 4:00 p.m just in time to drive to work and make it there by 5:00 p.m., work until 9:30 p.m, home by 9:45 p.m and I am off to bed, then the day starts all over again!! I know you guys should all feel sorry for me!! But I think we have all experienced a crazy heck tech life at least once or twice. So for all of you that have experienced this I know how you feel, not EVER being able to spend time with the one you love. So for those wondering why I will not spend any time with you it is because I simply don't have the time, or I would rather spend it with my awesome husband Ben. Have I mentioned how awesome he is?? Well he is just great especially now since I am never home he has been doing all of the house chores and making sure things stay in order. I LOVE that guy!! Any way If I don't post anything for a long time you will understand I hope!! I hope everyone has a great summer!!

RACE FOR THE CURE!!

This past weekend I was able to join the race for the cure!! I signed up on a team with one of my friends from school as her mom had passed away from breast cancer about 20 yrs ago. She has a team every year to pay tribute to her mother and help others fight for a cure!! Our team name was TEE TOO, which was my friends mother's nick name. Her family made there own team t-shirts and it was a lot of fun. I hope we can make it a tradition that we go every year with each other. Here we are at the end of the race once we had finished.

I finished in about 30 min. which isn't bad but it is not great either for a 3.1 mile race. I plan on running Robbie one of these days with my husband as he ran it this year for the first time!! I have got a lot of training to do!!

There is a first for everything!

It has been so long since my last post I apologize for not keeping everyone in the loop of what is going on in my world. But really you haven't missed much since my last post!! I have been SUPER busy with School, a job, a husband, laundry, dishes, and trying to keep the house clean as best as I can. Ben has been really GREAT, he is the one to do all the dishes, and laundry all though it doesn't get put away right away, but that is okay at least we have clean clothes to wear!! Any way I thought I would share some bad news a couple of weeks ago my car decided to get into a fight with the car in front of it. Yeah it was pretty stupid if you ask me the car should have thought about what she was doing before it happened. So here are just a few pictures of the damages.

It is a good thing that my father is a mechanic and knows a few things about cars, as he thinks that he will be able to fix it for me. He is ordering in a bunch of parts that it needs and hopefully I will have my car back in no time at all. Cuz let me tell you driving one car between both Ben and I has been ruff but do able. Good thing NO one was hurt and I was not even sore the next day after the fight. Unfortunately, the cop gave me a citation for inattentive driving and a misdemeanor charge, YES I am a felon now, and I have to go to court. This is my FIRST accident and my FIRST ticket ever, hopefully it will be the last.

Happy Turkey day

I hope every one has a GREAT Thanksgiving tomorrow!!
I will probably be spending the majority of my time over at my parents house! We will start off by shooting some clay pigeons in the back yard fallowed by the big feast. Then we will probably end up at my husbands grandparents house for some pumpkin pie yummy!!!

I have been enjoying my Thanksgiving break and trying to relax before I have to go back to school!! Although it does not seem like much of a break, because the teachers at my school would not let us go home with nothing to do!!

EXCITING NEWS!!
NO I am NOT pregnant, but my brother just go back from his mission!! He served in Peru for over 2 years. He was supposed to come back in October but he was such a good missionary and they liked him so much they needed to keep him another month and so of course he stayed. I was so excited to get to see him FIRST!! Ya see what happened is the weekend he got home, BSU was playing Utah State in Utah. So to make a long story short. We drove to Utah to watch BSU WIN!! Then I had to fly home to Boise so that I could be home to see my brother but it just so happened that we were on the same flight together!! So I talked with the lady at the counter and had them change my seating assignment so that I could set next to him on the plane ride home!! I don't think that is cheating is it?? Anyway my brother had NO idea that I was going to be on the same flight as him, and I REALLY surprised him in the Salt Lake City airport. It was good to see him.

Any way all is good and SORRY it has been such a long time since I was last here. And I don't have any new pictures to post I will see if I can round some up.

What we have been up to latley!

Well school is just right around the corner, and I mean RIGHT around the corner! So I had to finish a few projects before school takes over my life. Recently my projects was to stain ALL of our kitchen cabinets. Boy what that a job to do. We went from a really light color on our cabinets to a really dark chocolate brown. It took probably 10-12 coats if not more to get the color just right. So here is our new Kitchen.

One other thing is that we have been painting our downstairs walls with a new color. Yes I know we just painted our walls one year ago but we ended up not really liking the color, but we lived with it for a year. So we picked out a new color that we like MUCH better!! It is called oyster shell, it is a light brown/dark beige color. You can kind of see the color difference in the the picture below
